People consume food everyday as a source of energy. We consume a lot during breakfast, a fair amount for lunch, and a little for dinner. Well, that’s just my way of eating for the day. It’s a diet that gives me a lot of energy for breakfast and to maintain energy, I also have a fair amount during lunch. I only have a little for dinner so I can sleep soundly. You see, your stomach will also be working during your sleep if you have a lot of for dinner, thus greatly decreasing the relaxation your body acquire during rest. Now, how about a vegan diet?
A vegan diet contains only plants and foods made from plants. Vegans don’t eat foods coming from animals, including dairy products and eggs. Vegan diet, however, lacks nutrients coming from food made from animals. Some people don’t actually follow a vegan diet, but mix them together, which is called Paleo-Vegan diet, in order to balance the nutrients that both sides provide. Paleo foods is simply a diet based on the type of foods presumed consumed by early humans such as meat, fish, vegetables, and fruit. However, this excludes dairy or grain products and processed foods. It’s quite a healthy, and delicious diet in my opinion.
Vegan foods contains plants and vegetables, as previously mentioned, but also includes grains, beans, nuts, and seeds. For someone that grew up eating meat, I certainly find it difficult to practice vegan diet. I will miss the rich aroma and juicy textures of meat and seafood, which a vegan diet doesn’t provide. So, why does one want to practice a vegan diet? It’s because a vegan diet will certainly result in quick weight-loss. Other reasons can be for the health benefits. If you’re someone that’s unable to eat meat, this is the route for you.
As a curious person, I have also tried a vegan diet. I grew up not having any choice but to consume what is offered to me. There was a time when we would consume only fruits and corn. There are times when we feast on seafood and meat. In other words, I can adjust my diet easily, but can never quite maintain the same diet for a long period. There are a lot of delicious delicacies out there which I quite yearn to taste before the end of my years in our beautiful world.
Why stick to one diet, when you can change it depending on your taste. One thing that I do understand, anything that’s too much is bad for you. However, a moderate amount of something, and trying something else afterwards, is not only good but stimulates your excitement for what’s to come. Yes, vegan foods have a lot of healthy aspects to offer, and I definitely recommend you try this once, even for a period of 1 to 2 months. You’ll certainly see the difference with your past diet. Here’s what’s really important, it is balance that matters. Food for thought.
